Audio file privacy

The library works with two kinds of audio. Shared previews are short excerpts in the DJ Crate catalog; they help you recognize a track and check BPM/key. Source uploads are full audio files up to 20 MB that you attach with explicit consent. Only you can hear them — the file is tied to your account and is never served to other users. When no shared preview exists, an anonymized shared excerpt may be prepared without attribution or compensation.

Private fields are separate from the public catalog. Record condition, storage location, notes, rating, tags, crates, and personal track corrections belong to your account. Your library shows only your data; internal purchasing and service information never appears in the interface. The demo opens without creating an account and adds nothing to your library.

When a shared preview is hosted by DJ Crate, the player receives it directly from the service. This does not make your personal files public. Playing an external preview contacts the source website, so that excerpt remains subject to the source's availability.

The full file is deleted automatically and permanently 20 days after a short excerpt is created successfully. If a shared preview already exists or processing does not finish, a separate 20-day deletion period applies to the source. The shared excerpt is retained independently: removing the card or personal file does not remove it from the catalog or cancel processing already in progress. Daily upload limits keep storage fair.
